Moody and Stylish Autumn Wedding Inspiration

I am nowhere near ready for Summer to be over, not even a little bit. However, I know all you Autumn brides are pulling your final weddings details together right now, so it felt like a good time to share this with you. Proof that you can have a beautiful, lush and romantic Fall wedding without going the pumpkin and flannel route... Also, thanks to Oregon Bride Magazine for featuring us in their Fall/Winter print issue and choosing our cake to adorn the cover (!!!)

Last year I got together with the ladies of The Real Creative to help bring to life a vision they had for an ethereal, moody and PNW inspired wedding. We staged the shoot at the beautiful Leach Botanical Gardens here in Portland. It was the perfect place to capture some Autumn foliage, but also keep that lush green vibe the northwest is known for. They brought so much style to the table (literally) with a dip dyed DIY ceremony backdrop, air plant favors, stone and gold place settings and the most gorgeous black drip candles. They used a stunning green runner to tie in all the plant life of the venue, and nod to the Pantone color of the year 2017, greenery. The drool worthy naked chocolate cake adorned with blood oranges and blackberries was made more edgy by being displayed next to a rad buffalo skull.

The bride was dressed in a stunning lace, long sleeved, but bohemian gown from Elizabeth Dye and wore a hat for a touch of warmth on a cool November day. Swoon Floral decked out every part of the shoot with the most beautiful flowers in every shade of Autumn. She made Mums look cooler than ever and it all smelt amazing with chocolate cosmos mixed in. I could go on forever about how fun this shoot was to be a part of, with some of Portlands best and most creative ladies, but I'll let the images do the rest of the talking!

Cynthia + Johnny: Columbia River Gorge Engagement

Cynthia and Johnny were coming up to Portland from LA to see their favorite band and celebrate their recent engagement. I was so excited when they reached out saying they wanted to have engagement photos done in the gorge as part of their weekend getaway. Cynthia and I watched the weather for weeks with our fingers crossed. This Winter and early Spring were some of the rainiest months we've had, so when their date kept showing as sunny we just couldn't believe it. I think they brought those LA vibes with them because we got one of the only sunny days in all of February! We spent the morning exploring the gorge together, running around waterfalls and admiring the snowy vistas. And though you can't tell in the photos it was still pretty dang chilly. So by the time we were finished everyone had earned a big savory brunch! Also, major points to Cynthia rocking that killer outfit through it all! Thanks for including me in your celebration, you two, definitely one of my favorite engagement shoots to date! xoxo
